Terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026.

  1. What UnMute is.

UnMute is a place to keep the creators you follow in one list, see what they publish, and organise it your way. These terms apply when you use the website at unmute.you or the installed app. By using UnMute you agree to them and to the Privacy page.
  2. Early access.

While UnMute is in early access, it is open to invited guests.
  3. Your account.

You can look around the Home with example creators and open public creator pages without an account. Your own Home needs a free UnMute account, made with Google or with an email address and a password. You must be 13 or older, and old enough to use the services you connect (YouTube asks for 13 or older, or the age of consent where you live). Keep your password private, and if you think someone else has used your account, tell us at admin@unmute.you.
  4. YouTube.

UnMute uses YouTube API Services. If you connect your YouTube account or play videos in UnMute, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to the data YouTube and Google handle. You can remove UnMute’s access to your Google account at any time on the Google permissions page.
  5. Other platforms.

UnMute links to creators’ pages on other platforms. Those platforms have their own terms and privacy rules, which apply when you visit them. UnMute has no comments of its own: you comment on the platform where the creator posted.
  6. Your things stay yours.

The list, notes and profile details you create belong to you. You give UnMute permission only to store and show them to you, and to the people you choose to share them with, so the service can work. Do not add anything you do not have the right to share.
  7. Using UnMute properly.

Do not break the law, attack or overload the service, try to get into other people’s accounts or data, scrape it in bulk, or use it to harass, deceive or spam anyone. We may limit or end access that does this.
  8. Pages UnMute makes, and reports.

UnMute builds a page for a creator from their public channel, account, show or site, so that people can follow them. If you are the person or business a page is about and something is wrong, or you want it changed or taken down, use the Report button on the page or write to admin@unmute.you. A creator can claim their page by proving they run it. Anyone can report a page, a profile or a pick list.
  9. What we may do.

We may hide or remove content, hold a creator page, release a claim, or suspend or end an account, for example after a report, if something is unlawful, deceptive, abusive or infringes someone’s rights, or to protect the service. We try to say why and to put things right when we got it wrong. A copyright or other legal notice can be sent to the same address.
  10. Leaving.

You can stop at any time. Under Your data you can delete your account and the data saved on UnMute’s server. The list kept on your own device stays with you.
  11. No promises about uptime or results.

UnMute is a young service offered as it is. Feeds depend on other companies’ systems, so items can be late, missing or unavailable, and features can change. To the extent the law allows, UnMute is not responsible for losses that come from using it or from those other services being unavailable.
  12. Changes and contact.

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and the new version is shown here. Questions: write to admin@unmute.you.
